LOMOgraphy has taken to social media to reassure film photographers that it is not discontinuing its CN800 colour negative film.
Earlier this week, a Reddit user posted a message on the r/AnalogCommunity subreddit from film retailer Adorama, which read: “We are sorry to inform you that the manufacturer has informed us that the item you have ordered has been discontinued and is no longer available. For this reason we are cancelling your order.”
However, LOMOgraphy responded via Instagram to further questioning, denying that the film had been discontinued and the company had no plans to withdraw it.
The film is currently listed as out-of-stock on the LOMOgraphy site, with no news as yet when the next batch will be available.
CN800 is one of three traditional colour negative films in LOMOgraphy’s range, alongside CN100 and CN400.
LOMOgraphy also recently announced that its Redscale XR50-200 experimental film is back in stock. The 35mm film has a strong redscale effect at ISO 50 and a cooler blue tone at ISO200. The film can be set at different ISOs in the same roll to vary the effect from shot to shot.
