In May, Kosmo Foto originally planned with the help of the Photographer’s Gallery Bookshop to unveil our latest film.
Kosmo Foto Direktor is a limited-edition re-rolled version of Eastman Kodak’s peerless 5222 XX black-and-white cinema film which has been used in iconic films such as ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Oppenheimer’.
Kosmo Foto was released in time for the Photographica camera fair in London in May.
The walk had to be postponed in May, but is now taking place this Saturday (22 August). The Direktor walk will be the only photo walk featuring this film. It will be starting at The Photographers Gallery on Ramilles Street at 11am.
Tickets cost £20 including VAT. Each ticketholder will get a roll of Direktor – which is not available in the shops and can only be ordered from Kosmo Foto.

The walk will work its way through central London visiting various landmarks from cinema history – and we’re challenging you to think like a director, taking shots you think could be stills from a film.
There will also be some spot prizes from Kosmo Foto and its online camera shop Cameraburo.
A note on Direktor: we had originally planned to follow the original version of Kosmo Foto Direktor with further batches in a metal canister, but the cost of producing the film was slightly higher than we’d anticipated. We’d prefer to keep our films as affordable as possible, so unless we can find a cheaper method of producing it, this will be the only batch of the film we will produce.
If you can’t make the walk on Saturday and you still fancy shooting it, head to the Kosmo Foto Shop.
