China Lucky Film’s latest colour film – called Lucky C400 – has apparently been launched at a photography convention in China.
A post on the Reddit forum r/AnalogCommunity by user GabbasClub showed an update from China’s Lucky Film’s account on the Chinese social media platform RedNote, announcing the new 400-ISO film.
The Photo & Imaging Shanghai 2026 launched on Thursday (23 July) and runs until Monday (27 July).
The RedNote post said: “Lucky C400 film has just been released at the Shanghai exhibition. You can grab it onsite or buy online through multiple channels.”
The film is reportedly available for ¥69 ($10.50/£7.85) which includes processing and scanning in China.
There are no details yet on when the film will be available outside China.
China Lucky Film’s European Instagram page has recently posted images taken on the film, which were posted in the last few weeks. They include the portrait taken by Instagram user calvinonfilm which you can see below:

Lucky C400 is the second colour film to emerge from China Lucky Film since the launch of Lucky C200 last year. It is not a relaunched film, but an entirely new emulsion.
News of Lucky C400 first emerged earlier this year, though there were no details on when it would be available.
China Lucky Film’s new colour releases come amid a burst of activity in colour film production from new producers.
Britain’s Harman Technology – which makes Ilford and Kentmere black-and-white films – is now on the second iteration of its Phoenix colour film after launching the first version at the end of 2023.
Optik Oldschool, a lab based in Dusseldorf in Germany, released Opticolour 200 in 2025, a new colour film believed to be Original Wolfen NC200, which had been teased in early 2025.
Last week it emerged Optik Oldschool had become the new owners of the facility which makes it, InovisCoat, and the company that owns the Original Wolfen brand, Filmotec.
