British film producer Harman Technology is celebrating this summer’s football world cup with limited editions of two of its most popular Ilford Photo films.

The football-themed films feature images on the film box taken by sports photographer Miles Myerscough-Harris, who runs the @expiredfilmclub Instagram channel and has built up a huge following shooting sporting events on expired film.

The two films featuring Myerscough-Harris’s photographs are Ilford Photo XP2 Super and Ilford Photo HP5, two of Harman Technology’s 400-ISO films. Ilford Photo XP2 Super is a chromogenic film which can be processed in C41 colour chemistry.

“A couple of years ago we released limited-edition retro packaging for our HP5 Plus and FP4 Plus films and the feedback from the community was fantastic. Film shooters by their very nature are collectors and wanted more,” said Giles Branthwaite, the company’s sales and marketing director.

“With a World Cup around the corner, and as a company full of football (soccer) fans, we wanted to celebrate football fever by teaming up with Miles on this project,” he added.

The limited-edition films are available from Wednesday (27 May). The FIFA World Cup 2026, meanwhile, kicks off on 11 June.

The football-themed films are the last releases in a very busy year for Harman Technology, which in the past 12 months has released its budget-focused Kentmere 200 black-and-white film, a second version of its Phoenix 200 colour negative film and the second of its experimental colour films, Switch Azure.

It has also released its popular landscape and fine-art film, Pan F Plus, in large format for the first time.
