Boston-based lab and photographic brand CatLABS has released a 100-ISO colour film for 120 cameras.
Announcing the film, CatLABS described it as: “A unique color film emulsion offering superb sharpness, soft tones and a beautiful vivid color palate. CatLABS X FILM 100 Color is characterized by its distinct color coupler structure (AKA grain), contrast and tonal range, not found with other currently available films.
“CatLABS X FILM 100 Color should be processed as a standard C41 film for superb color negatives.
“It may also be processed in E6 chemistry for intense contrast ‘positive’ slide film.”

The description fits other recently released colour films touted as both C-41 and E6 – such as Film Washi X and Flic Film’s Elektra 100 – which are rebadged versions of Kodak’s Aerocolor IV aviation film.
CatLABS said: “Balanced for daylight shooting, CatLABS X FILM 100 Color is also suitable for low light or available light conditions, especially when using long exposures. When exposing for more than 10 seconds, color balance is almost neutral and renders wonderfully under tungsten or artificial lighting.”
The film is currently only available in 120 format but CatLABS said 35mm will be available soon.
Single rolls cost $12.90 (£10.75), with a 10-pack costing £109.00 (90.85) and a 10-pack with an added film box ($118.00) (£99).
