UPDATED: More labs added on 8/4/20.
Many photography labs around the world have had to temporarily shut up shop thanks to the coronavirus. Photo labs are not, after all, essential businesses like supermarkets and pharmacies are.
Some of them, however, are able to open – either because they’re in industrial estates or have been able to pause their customer-facing business and process orders sent in by mail.
Last week, Kosmo Foto called out for information on labs that are processing film via post. Thanks to all the labs and film photographers who got in touch. This is the list of the confirmed labs so far. As more and more labs and photographers get in touch, this list will get longer and longer.
Do you work in a lab which is running mail order development? Or know that your local lab is still running? Then get in touch by emailing email@example.com.
Please include the following info:
- Name of lab
- Web address
- Street address
- Phone number
- Contact email
If you’re thinking of sending film out to a lab, make sure you do so in a responsible, sensible manner.
If you’re ill – or have shown symptoms of coronavirus in the last seven days – then please don’t leave the house to post film.
Try to use online postal payment and drop it in a mailbox rather than going to a post office counter.
Above all, respect any lockdown restrictions in your locale – they are in place to keep both you and others safe.
