German film brand KONO! has released three new experimental colour films.

All three films feature strong colour casts and are called Mojo, Offbeat and Bebop.

KONO said in a press release: “KONO! Mojo is the boldest addition to the line-up. Featuring strong colour shifts, deep contrast, and an energetic visual character, it transforms everyday scenes into expressive, graphic images. From vibrant street photography and nightlife to festivals, fashion, and experimental projects, KONO! Mojo is made for photographers who want every frame to stand out.

“With KONO! OffBeat, colour follows its own path. Inspired by the character of cross-processed film, it introduces rich emerald greens and cyan tones while preserving the natural qualities of available light. The result is a distinctive yet versatile film that delivers vivid, unconventional images for travel, portraits, street photography, and everyday creative work.

“Completing the trio is KONO! Bebop, a refined film that embraces subtlety and atmosphere. Its elegant tonal depth, gentle colour palette, and balanced contrast create calm, cinematic images with a timeless analogue aesthetic. Whether photographing landscapes, architecture, portraits, or quiet everyday moments, Bebop offers a sophisticated visual signature that rewards careful observation.”

The films were announced on 7 July and are already available from the KONO! online store. All cost €17.90 (£15.25/$20.40) per roll, or can be purchased as a bundle of all three emulsions for €45.60 (£38.85/$51.95).

The new KONO! films come on the heels of two recent experimental films from Harman Technology, who have adapted their first colour film – Haman Phoenix – to create the redscale Red and the turquoise-toned Switch Azure.

Meanwhile, China’s Reflx Lab has recently unveiled Diablo 100, a redscale film adapted from another recent colour negative release, China Lucky Film’s Color 200.
