Eastman Kodak has announced the release of a new colour negative cinema film called Verita 200D which has been developed in collaboration with the HBO drama series ‘Euphoria’.
The new film, which also has the Eastman Kodak designation 5206/7206, is a daylight-balanced film which the company says is a “medium speed, daylight balanced film stock delivering gorgeous, bold colors”.
The film will be available in 16mm, 35mm and 65mm formats.
In a statement on the Kodak.com website, on its release, Eastman Kodak said: “With shadows and detailed highlights that differ from Vision3, Verita 200D renders beautiful and warm skin tones, higher color saturation, and deep blacks.
“Verita 200D has an engaging and shorter, but exceptionally rich, dynamic range when compared to Vision3, offering classically cinematic results.
“Verita 200D incorporates Kodak’s proprietary advanced Dye Layering technology with an anti-halation undercoat and process surviving anti-stat backing layer designed to reduce dust accumulation.”
The film was developed with the collaboration of ‘Euphoria’ writer and director Sam Levinson and the show’s cinematographer Marcell Rév for the third season of the show, which debuts on Sunday (12 April).

In a press release Eastman Kodak said: “Levinson and Rév exposed more than one million feet of Verita 200D in 35mm and 65mm formats during production of Euphoria Season 3, which premieres April 12, 2026 on HBO and HBO Max, and was shot entirely on Kodak film. The series is also the first television production to shoot significant volumes of large‑format 65mm film.
“Verita has the richness and density curve that reminds me of the golden age of color film, with the flexibility and latitude of modern negative stocks,” said Rév.
According to Eastman Kodak, the film was also used in the forthcoming Hugh Jackman film ‘The Death of Robin Hood’.
Eastman Kodak has also released a demo of the new film on its YouTube channel which can be seen below:
