The competition is free to enter and runs until 5 January 2025.
The competition is offering a prize pot worth more than £4,000, and winners will be announced at AP’s awards on 10 March 2025. The contest is being sponsored by Ricoh Imaging, UK film photography retailer Analogue Wonderland and Kodak Alaris.
The winner gets a prize package which includes:
- A new Pentax 17 film camera
- A year’s supply of Kodak film
- A year’s supply of film developing and scanning from the Analogue Wonderland lab
- A limited-edition Pentax t-shirt and baseball cap
Two runners up will receive £100 worth of film, £100 worth of development vouchers and a Pentax t-shirt.
Any images taken on black-and-white, colour negative or colour slide film can be submitted, but all images have to have been taken in 2024, AP said. Images have to be submitted digitally, and minor digital editing is permitted.
“We are looking for your very best images from 2024. Submit a selection that represents your creativity, your expertise, and your personal vision,” the competition’s announcement said.
“The judges will be looking for a set of 5-8 images that showcase your ability to shoot fantastic film images across a range of genres, situations and styles.”
The contest is only open to residents of the UK.
