Lomography has marked the first anniversary of the release of the LOMO MC-A premium compact camera by releasing two new versions – as well as updating the camera with improved features.
The first new version of the camera is finished in black snakeskin-effect leather, while the second is gold-plated with red leather.
Lomography said the new cameras will be available in strictly limited quantities. The black version costs £499 in the UK, and the gold and red version costs £549.

Lomography said in a press release: “This time last year, we launched into a new chapter of Lomography with the Lomo MC-A 35mm film camera.
“One year, twelve months, 365 days, and at least 15,872 film rolls later, we’re unashamedly proud of this creative tool that has grown progressively with its community. Learning and growing with experience, the LOMO MC-A is the camera made By, for and with film photography lovers all around the globe. The same pocket-sized rebel, just a little wiser and a lot more you!”
Lomography also said the new improvements are:
- The camera is easier to load
- Settings are remembered when the camera is next powered up
- The camera’s Auto programme is now updated to choose an f/3.5 aperture is possible
- The LCD displays information for a little longer

The new versions of the camera have also been accompanied by a range of leather accessories. The LOMO MC-A can now be bought with a leather half case with accompanying strap, which is available for £42.90. The Austrian photography brand has also released a leather wallet for the camera’s glass filter set, as well as a leather pouch to hold the filters for the camera’s integral flash. All three leather accessories are available as a set
The original versions of the LOMO MC-A were announced in October 2025 and the camera was met with considerable interest on its release soon after, as it was the Austrian photography brand’s first 35mm autofocus camera. The camera also features zone focus and a 32mm lens, a throwback to the original LOMO LC-A compact which kickstarted Lomography’s movement back in the early 1990s. It has an integral flash with various modes, fully automated and manual exposure modes and exposure compensation.
Kosmo Foto will be publishing its full review of the LOMO MC-A in the coming weeks.
