Hanimex 35HS simple compact camera, film tested and with 90-day warranty.
The Hanimex 35HS is one of a myriad of Hanimex-branded compacts cameras from the late-20th Century. Many were glorified single-use cameras, others were budget electronic models with auto exposure etc. This camera is definitely near the simple end of the category but also has some useful features.
The Hanimex 35HS was made in Macau by Halina (it’s very similar to the Halina 150). It doesn’t need any batteries to operate but does have a hotshoe if you want to use flash. The camera has a single shutter speed (1/125) but a range of apertures to choose depending on weather conditions. The widest is a generous f/5.6 and the others are f/8 and f/11. The widest aperture is also the flash setting. It’s focus free – just compose and click.
The camera was designed to be used with 200-ISO film but 100 or 400 will be fine aswell.
The camera has been film tested and comes with a 90-day warranty. While the plastic lens on a par with a proper glass lens, I was pleasantly surprised by the results when testing it
