The first batch of Kosmo Foto Mono has been sent around the world, and people have already been shooting it and posting their results online.
Packing up the orders took up many a weekend and evening, but one of the nice things about it was seeing all the places the film was going to: Slovenia, Greenland, New Zealand, Singapore, Russia, Brazil and Romania, to name just a few.
Releasing Kosmo Foto Mono has been about more than simply having some film stock in my online shop. I want to build a community around the film and do what I can to promote film photography.
Part of that is Kosmo Foto’s very own Kosmonauts programme. Anyone who’s bought the film can be one – all you have to do is share between five and 10 pictures taken on the film and answer this short questionnaire.
Where are you from?
How long have you been shooting film?
What cameras do you shoot on?
What other films do you like using?
What are your thoughts about Kosmo Foto Mono?
What films would you like to see on the market (old films brought back or new ones)?
Everyone who gets published gets a little thank you from Kosmo Foto – another roll of Kosmo Foto Mono film, plus a special little gift that will only be available to Kosmonauts. It won’t be available in the shop.
Several Kosmo Foto customers have already shared their images; check them out:
It’s been fantastic seeing people share their rolls arriving on Instagram and Flickr, and then showing off the images they’ve made on the film. I hope to see many more.
More film will be in stock at the end of February – there will be further announcements in due time.
If you have any further questions about the film, drop me a line at email@example.com.
